Great food, best chicken lovers I've ever ate!!
We love the food there. The complimentary fried corn bread started everything in the right way. We go back every time we can get back to Mentone
We visited on Sunday the weekend of Mentone October Colorfest. Lunch was great. My wife and I went with a simple hamburger and fries. Meal was delicious. My wife especially enjoyed the sweet potato fries.
We love the food here. Everything we've ordered has been consistently delicious, even take out. The blackened catfish and the fried green tomato BLT are a big hit, as well as the chicken livers and Reuben. Friendly staff, highly recommend!
Wonderful venue - peaceful with plenty of covered outdoor eating areas. As I arrived on a warm day on a motorcycle, I choose to cool off inside. Service was excellent, food spectacular. The smoked Pork Chop was easily the best pork chop I have ever had - and that was before I dipped a piece in the sauce served on the side. With the sauce, it caused me to consider if I should order another. Not because it wasn’t enough - it was - but because I didn’t want the experience to end...
First - the front part of the restaurant is a log cabin built in the 1800's, so cool! The atmosphere and decor was awesome. Food was delicious and service could not have been any better. My husband tried the award winning catfish which he thoroughly enjoyed and I had the blackened grilled chicken tenders. We couldn't wait to go back last night for dinner - however the holiday hours interfered with that plan, lol. If you are in Mentone, you must check out this place for darn good southern food and hospitality.
Love the old log cabin, great food, and even better service! My husband had the fried catfish, fries, and black eyed peas. I had grilled blackened chicken tenders, sweet potato fries and pinto beans. Would recommend every single item we had.
Good catfish, cole slaw, and beer battered fries. Atmosphere is wonderfully quaint and rustic. Our server was a sweet young lady who was very attentive. I believe her name was Callie. Solid four stars.
My sister and I ate here last week. Our server, Melissa, was the perfect balance of friendly, informative, and attentive without being pesky. I ordered trout with sweet potato fries and mixed veggies. It was all perfect except for a few of the sweet potato fries that got into the juice of the veggies and got soggy. The portions were generous so that didn't matter. My sister had a salad and loved it. They were out of her favorite dressing so they brought 2 alternatives on the side. We enjoyed the setting. All the people working there seemed to work together well. We went in mid-afternoon which is a slow time for them. Our food came in a timely manner. I was surprised to read other reviews about the long wait times for their food. Maybe they don't manage large crowds well. I was very happy with our experience even before we left an item there and had to go back for it over an hour later. They kept it safely for us at the cash register and were so nice about it.
My favorite stop on the way from Rome to Nashville! Ran in here once to seek shelter from a storm and was pleasantly surprised. Green Leaf Grill has a quaint little log cabin/treehouse feel, the dishes taste homemade, and both waitresses were the friendliest! It’s such an easily-missed hidden gem.
If I could give this place 10 stars - I would. The fired green tomatoes are the best I have had since I was a kid. Their surf and turf special boasts a rosemary ribeye that is utterly divine. Hamburger steak with grilled onions and peppers is also superb and a very generous portion. Fried catfish is good as are the fried chicken livers. Their smoked porkchop is huge and has a wonderful rich barbecue flavor. For sides - they're all good - but the grilled veggies are magnificent. The pinto beans are good enough that with a bigger bowl and some corn bread, you'd have a meal that your great grandmother would have pronounced mighty fine. Best of all though were the beer battered fries! Best desserts were the homemade French silk pie and the Mississippi Mud cake. We will definitely come back again and again. They don't allow BYOB, but the sweet tea is just fine.
Absolutely love this cabin and delicious food. Have been coming here for years, but today (sunday) we had our best experience. The owner, Jimmy Rogers went above and beyond to accomodate us. Rode the motorcycle and had to wait out the rain. Had a very enjoyable visit. The owner prepared something not on the menu because we had rode over an hour craving it. We were provided locally grown fresh vegetables and the sweetest fresh corn! Of course the fried cornbread is worth this trip alone! Very friendly service from the waitress to the owner! This is always our place to eat every time we come close to Fort Payne. So grateful for genuinely kind and caring people! It showed in all your actions today Jimmy Rogers! You made our day extra special. May the Lord Bless your Business and family
Very good food enjoyable environment.
Love the fried green tomatoe BLT. This is not a fast food restaurant. They cook to order. Don't go if you are in a rush. Absolutely recommend.
This place is superb!! We love it????
This. Place. I don’t know what made us love this little gem so much but we did. We came here for dinner three out of five nights when we were camping. We got the catfish which was delicious all three nights!
Very nice waitress (Sophie) and wonderful food. I got the fried green tomato BLT with grilled corn on the cob. It was delicious, with high quality bacon. The corn was wonderful. And all this came with free cornbread for everyone, which was actually cornbread fritters served with butter. Delicious!
Very nice little restaurant. Allow dogs on the patio. Unfortunately they were out of several of their menu items but their sweet tea is AWESOME.
Also, be sure to have the Greek pork chop. It’s worth the trip.
One of the best place to hang out in Mentone. The food here is super tasty and fresh.
Great food, service, and price.
It's been a year since I've been here but excellent food & service! I had my first & best experience with a fried green tomato & I am hooked! Soooo good!
Best chicken livers I’ve ever had.
Wonderful friendly staff.
Best friend tomato
Had lunch there today with my husband..the food was very good! I had the fried green tomato BLT with fries and my husband had the club sandwich with fries..all was very good! Very fairly priced and service was good..staff was very friendly...we live just a little over a hour away but enjoyed our visit and we will be coming back!!
If you love deers wearing Santa hats then visit this restaurant sometime in December. Personally I am always looking for a good opportunity to see a deer with a Santa hat on and guess what this place HAD TWO! One of them had a fake Rudolph red nose that tripped me up for a second, but on closer inspection I determined that, nope that's not a reindeer, it's definitely a deer. Also the food was good.
The food was absolutely, beyond delicious. I was pleasantly surprised! My daughter ordered the smoked pork chop and it was literally melt-in-your-mouth good! I got the catfish, also incredible. They did run out of the beer-battered fries which I really wanted to try, but I tried the sweet potato fries, which I don't usually like from other places, and they turned out to be amazing! They do close at 3 on Sundays, but it seems that all of the restaurants do in the area, so it isn't specific to just them.
All in all, it's a great place to go. The food is some of the best I've ever had; the server we had was very sweet despite being incredibly busy; the atmosphere was great. You really cant go wrong eating here. I wish we had one close to where I live, it would be my favorite restaurant. I would honestly be willing to travel the 2 hours just for dinner! YUM!!!
...I just really hope they had some of those beer-battered fries the next time. ;)
Oh, make sure you ask for cornbread!
Good service, cool vibe. The corn bread pancake was delicious! Thoroughly Enjoyed the Smoked Pork Chop, though I heard the Bama Grown Catfish is the star. Located in the Log Cabin Village.
Food was delicious.. Service was good. Cute little place. I would definitely come back .
The food is great and the prices are fair. It takes a few minutes to get your food but it's well worth the wait. I would recommend the Alabama raised catfish or the turkey melt sandwich. The sweet potato fries are great. As well as the potato salad and beer battered fries. 2 thumbs up for The Green Leaf Grill.
Excellent service, delicious food!
I challenge you to find better food within 100 miles and more reasonable prices within 500.
Love this place.
Food is great!!!
My family and I ate here for our first time on August 6th. We had seen it and were always interested in trying it out but finally stopped by.
I have to admit it was a great experience all around. The food was excellent, the people were all very polite and professional. The only regret we have is we did not try it sooner. Great prices too! Come hungry is my suggestion. They will treat you right!
